SHABBAT NASO JUNE 6-7

See below for the Shavuot schedule and other special announcements.

Please join us Friday @ 7:00 PM for Mincha followed by Carlebach Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv. Please note that we will daven at 7 PM through the summer months.

Saturday morning we will daven Shacharit at 9:30 AM. I will speak about "Shavuot and the Giving of the Torah: Why Doesn't the Torah Mention the Connection?"

Kiddush this week is sponsored by Dr. Jonathan Boyarin and Elissa Sampson in honor of the graduation of their son, Jonah's graduation from Wesleyan University!

Because of the intense heat expected this weekend, we will daven downstairs in the Bais Medrash, where the air conditioning works well. Please bear with us as it will mean some cramped conditions.

On Saturday afternoon we will daven Mincha at 7:50 PM. During Seudah Shlishit we will continue our class in Talmud Sanhedrin: Perek Chelek.

On Sunday morning we will daven Shacharit at the regular time of 7:00 AM.

PRE-SHAVUOT BAKE SALE

On Sunday morning at 11 AM we will hold our first annual bake sale fundraiser! All are welcome to come and purchase dairy and parve desserts for your Shavuot meals. For questions about the kashrut of the food, please contact Rabbi Pollak.

We still need volunteers to come to the shul on Sunday morning to help set up for the bake sale, and to set up for the dinner after the bake sale is over. Please email Rabbi Pollak if you are able to help!

SHAVUOT DINNER & LEARNING

Join us on Sunday, June 8th for our annual Shavuot dinner, followed by late-night learning! This year we will have 20 minute learning sessions in our Zvi Baruch Berkowitz Beis Medrash. Services will begin at 8 PM, followed by dinner at 9 PM. Our learning sessions will be:

Yori Yanover-"Geula and Goyim--Ruth and the Foreign Lineage of Mashiach"

Dr. Jonathan Boyarin-""Learning Torah in Kotsker Hasidism"

Rabbi Yossi Pollak-"The Secret of Ashrei"

Signups for the dinner are now closed. All are welcome to join us for learning at 10:15 PM.

Bake Sale

As I hope you are all aware, we are having a bake sale on June 8th. I am calling Shul members and asking them to bake for the sale. As of this morning, I have 6 bakers. This can be a terrific fundraiser with a minimum amount of work. It would be terrific if each of you could bake something.

I'm reaching out to the men as well as the women. We have a lot of talented people in our Shul, but I don't necessarily know all of them. Please let me know who the good bakers are, or ask them to contact me. I am hoping that the Stanton Street Bakery will be a terrific success on Erev Shavuot. Please mention this to everyone that you speak with. Let me know about the non members who come to shul. I only have a list of the paid members and I want to reach out to everyone.
